Work Life in Malaysia National Oil

“Malaysia, renowned for its serenity, surprises visitors with its startling contrasts.

From pristine primary jungle and isolated longhouse settlements in the interior to high-rise buildings, highways and the world’s largest palace; from secluded waterfalls in wooded glades and traditional fishing villages along tranquil beaches to lavish golf and country clubs and the most splendid polo complex in Southeast Asia. School

The School is a split site school in the residential area set on the edge of Sea. The school aims to develop an improved multi cultural and international approach to further extend the positive ethos of the school.

There are two streams in the school, an International and Dutch stream, but the children combine for various aspects of the curriculum. Shell has developed a new International Primary Curriculum and this will be phased in over the next two years.

Both buildings are extremely well located with very generous outside areas. Malaysia is an excellent place for young families and the school provides many activities. Children can cycle to school and it is a safe and open environment for children to grow up in.

The school has two multi purpose halls and all rooms at the school are air-conditioned. There is a networked computer lab in the main building and all classes have computers. Currently there are 21 nationalities of children attending the International Stream.

Both sites are provisioned with generously sized classrooms and spacious outdoor areas. The number of children enrolled is 280 with 21 full time teachers. In addition there are 4 assistant teachers in the lower school, plus 2 part time support teachers for the whole school.

Children work and play hard at the school and our results, particularly at the age of twelve are high. Activities after school are very important features of the school. There is football, hockey, gymnastic, karate, basketball, art, French, recorders, and many more activities.

The school has a Parent Teachers’ Council and each class has a class parent who helps the class with various activities, such as assembly, book week, concerts and so on.

Whilst Malaysia children do not attend the school, the school tries to foster links within the community and other local schools are invited to participate in sports events and there is a big emphasis on developing awareness of the local environment through the curriculum.
