OIL & GAS

OIL & GAS is the main product produced by Malaysia National Oil.

Natural gas is mostly supplied by Malaysia National Oil which operate three major offshore fields. The largest is South-West field, about 10 kilometres off Malaysia Coast. The other producing fields are Egor and Beta. In 1999, natural gas is also supplied to Malaysia National Oil the MBJV company. As of August 2003, MSP has a new gas field (Egros) producing to Malaysia National Oil.

The other product produced at the Malaysia National Oil plant is Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), which is bottled into canisters and sold as domestic cooking gas.

There are five liquefaction trains, each capable of processing 9700 m³ of gas per day. This gives an annual plant capacity of around 7.2 million tonnes of OIL & GAS. The OIL & GAS is stored in specially designed tanks prior to shipping by dedicated tankers to the customers in Asian regions. Part of the feed is conditioned and exported to the Department of Electrical Services (DES) power plants.

Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) is produced as a by-product. The LPG is used in the OIL & GAS process and is bottled in the Bottling plant for domestic sales by MSM.
